About techshooked
techshooked is an independent technology publication for practitioners and for anyone who follows the technology that shapes how the modern world runs. We cover the engineering reality behind the headlines, from kernel exploits to cloud egress to AI governance, and we explain what it actually means for the people who build, buy, and depend on these systems. We write for readers who make decisions about technology and want the substance, not the press release.
Last updated
We are primary-source-first. We work from the security advisory, the regulatory filing, the standards document, and the company's own announcement, and we separate what has been independently confirmed from what is only being claimed. The value is in what comes next: the context that explains why a development matters, the tradeoffs a spec sheet hides, and what it means for the people who build, secure, and rely on these systems. That is what we mean by coverage you can act on, anchored to the record rather than the press cycle.
What we cover
Our coverage is anchored in nine core areas, but it is not limited to them:
- Cybersecurity
- Developer Tools & Programming
- Emerging Technologies
- Gaming & Entertainment Tech
- Hardware & Gadgets
- Software & Enterprise
- Tech Policy & Regulation
- Web Hosting & Cloud Services
- Artificial Intelligence
Within those areas we publish in whatever format serves the story: news briefs that report a development and source it, explainers that make a complex topic usable, product evaluations that compare options on the criteria that matter, and longer analysis when a subject calls for it. We care about how things work and what they cost in practice, not only what a spec sheet says, so our explainers and evaluations focus on tradeoffs, failure modes, and the decisions a reader actually faces.
We follow technology wherever it becomes consequential. When a new field starts to matter, whether that is robotics, energy, space, or something without a tidy label yet, we cover it, and a recurring beat can grow into a category of its own. If a development affects how technology is built, secured, governed, or paid for, it is in scope.
How we work
Behind every article is a deliberate process: we research against primary sources, fact-check the claims that carry risk, run structural and editorial quality checks, and keep editorial oversight on what we cover and how it is framed before anything is published. Wherever we can, we link the advisory, the filing, or the release itself, so you can check our work against the same evidence we used. We attribute to the source closest to a fact, disclose our commercial relationships, and correct mistakes in the open. The full process is set out in our Editorial standards, and the way we handle mistakes is in our Correction policy.
Who is behind techshooked
techshooked is published by Noven Media.
We are an independent publication that runs lean by design. Our coverage is organized around beat desks, each responsible for a subject area and accountable for the work published under its byline. We hold ourselves to the standards on our Editorial standards page, and we would rather earn your trust through the rigor and sourcing of the work than through the size of a masthead.
Independence and funding
techshooked is free to read. Once the site launches we plan to fund it through advertising and affiliate links, and that revenue will never decide what we cover or how we rate it. Today we run neither. When we add either, we label commercial content, disclose affiliate relationships on our Affiliate disclosure page first, and never sell a recommendation. The specifics are in the How we make money section of our Editorial standards.
Cookies and consent
We use a small number of cookies for essential functions and to remember your consent choice; the details are in our Cookie policy. You can change your choice at any time through the Cookie settings link in the footer or the Manage consent control on the cookie banner. How we handle personal data more broadly is described in our Privacy policy.
