Affiliate disclosure
techshooked is an independently published tech publication. This page explains how we handle affiliate links and commissions, and what that means for you as a reader.

Where we stand today
techshooked does not currently participate in any affiliate program. If that changes, this page is updated first, and any page that contains affiliate links will carry a short disclosure at the top, above the content, so you always know before you read.
When we do use affiliate links, the arrangement is simple: if you click one and buy a product or subscribe to a service, we may earn a commission. It costs you nothing extra; the price is the same whether you use our link or go direct.
How affiliate relationships affect our recommendations: they don't
This is the part that matters. Our recommendations are decided on editorial merit, and only then do we add the links. We never rank a product higher, soften a criticism, or include a tool we wouldn't otherwise recommend because it pays a commission. If the best option in a category has no affiliate program, it still wins the recommendation, and it still gets the top spot.
Concretely:
- The ranking in any "best of" roundup reflects our evaluation, not commission rates.
- Every guide states a product's limitations, whether or not the product pays us.
- If we say we recommend something, it is because we would recommend it to a colleague.
- We do not host third-party coupon feeds, rent out sections of the site, or publish "reviews" of testing we did not do.
Sponsored content, when it appears, is clearly labeled and is never presented as an independent recommendation.
How we evaluate what we recommend
Our recommendations are built from evidence: each vendor's published specifications, pricing, and documentation, independent measurements, and long-term owner reports, all cited. We don't run a test lab, and we never claim testing that didn't happen. How we build and weigh a comparison is set out on our How we evaluate page.
Programs we participate in
None today. When techshooked joins an affiliate program or network, we will name it on this page, and this page is updated before any affiliate link goes live.
