Samsung Health now needs only three nights of tracked sleep before Sleep Coaching can begin, instead of seven days spread across a month. The same app update adds a Sleep Balance graph, two more Running Coach tiers and a way to bring Strava routes into the app.
Per Samsung, the three nights must fall inside the past two weeks. The feature needs Samsung Health version 6.24 or later, a Galaxy phone on Android 11 or newer, and a Galaxy Watch 4 series or later, a Galaxy Fit3 or later, or a Galaxy Ring. Setup then asks for a short survey on sleep regularity, interruptions, alcohol and caffeine intake, and how satisfied the user feels with their sleep. From the survey and the three nights, the app assigns a Sleep Animal symbol and builds a coaching program that runs four to eight weeks, adjusts its advice each week and supplies daily habit checklists, such as skipping late caffeine or putting screens away an hour before bed.
The Sleep Balance graph is a pentagon that folds five measures into one shape: sleep time, regularity, awake time during the night, sleep satisfaction and Energy Score. Morning insight messages review the previous night and feed the weekly and final reports. Sleep satisfaction is subjective by Samsung's own description, so the graph mixes what a watch or ring records with what the user reports feeling. Samsung notes that Energy Score is for personal reference and not intended for medical purposes.
Running Coach grows from 10 to 12 training tiers, with the added levels aimed at intermediate and advanced runners. Plans still start from either a 12-minute running test or a runner's own history. Workout data can be exported into share-ready templates for social platforms, and Strava Routes for running, trail running and cycling can be imported into Samsung Health.
Hardware requirements split the update unevenly. Running Coach needs Samsung Health version 6.30.2 or later, a phone on Android 10 or newer, a Samsung account and a Galaxy Watch8 series or newer, so the new training tiers reach fewer wearers than the sleep changes, which also work with the Galaxy Fit3 and the Galaxy Ring. Samsung's footnote also lists South Korea among the places where Strava is unavailable, so by that list the route import is not available in the company's home market. The features arrive through app updates starting in October, and Samsung says timing varies by market and model.
