Samsung Electronics added a new curated collection on Samsung Art Store in partnership with Art Basel in Basel, featuring 24 works by Swiss and Switzerland-based artists available exclusively on Samsung's Art TV lineup.
Per Samsung, the collection is now live and draws from eight galleries exhibiting at Art Basel in Basel, held in Switzerland this month. Participating galleries include von Bartha, Skopia, Blue Velvet, and several international names. Three Swiss-born artists anchor the exhibition: Thomas Huber, Tobias Kaspar, and Athene Galiciadis. Samsung also confirmed that visual artist Daniel Arsham is its new Art TV ambassador, with a custom bezel for The Frame Pro on display at Art Basel. Samsung Art Store now holds more than 5,000 artworks in 4K from over 800 artists across more than 80 gallery partners, available via subscription on The Frame, The Frame Pro, Micro RGB, Neo QLED, and OLED models.
The business logic is straightforward: Samsung Art Store is a recurring subscription revenue layer attached to Samsung's premium TV hardware. Every new collection partnership extends the value proposition for buyers of The Frame and Frame Pro at a price point above commodity screens. The Art Basel tie-in targets buyers at the moment the fair itself draws global media coverage, making it efficient marketing for a platform that costs nothing extra to distribute once licensing is in place.
Samsung Art Store has been expanding its institutional partnership catalog with roughly monthly additions. The practical question for competing display vendors is whether art-content licensing becomes a meaningful differentiator or a feature that only matters above a specific price tier. At $2,000 and up for a Frame Pro, the answer appears to be the latter, but Samsung's continued investment in the category suggests the platform's subscriber retention data supports it.
