The vivo V80 pairs a 6.59-inch, 144Hz OLED display with a 7,200mAh battery that vivo calls the largest yet in its V-Series, and the phone starts at INR 62,999 (about $653 at roughly 96.4 rupees to the dollar) in India.

vivo says the phone runs a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 and is the first V-Series model to ship with OriginOS 7. Pre-booking is open and sales start October 13, with the 8GB+128GB model at INR 62,999, the 8GB+256GB at INR 69,999 (about $726) and the 8GB+512GB at INR 79,999 (about $830), taxes included.

The chip is a 7-series part, a tier below Qualcomm's flagship line, so the vivo V80 asks buyers to weigh telephoto reach, battery life and screen over raw processing speed at this price.

The battery charges at up to 90W, per vivo, which also calls the screen the smoothest in the V-Series and says it reaches up to 5,000 nits of local peak brightness. The vivo V80 body measures 0.76 cm thick and weighs 203g, with IP68 and IP69 dust and water ratings. One footnote in vivo's own documentation gives the battery's rated capacity as 7,015mAh, with 7,200mAh as the typical figure, so the headline number is the higher of the two.

The cameras get the most attention on the vivo V80. The rear telephoto is a 50MP unit built on a Sony IMX882 sensor, with optical stabilization and 3x optical zoom, and vivo lists up to 100x digital zoom. Video tops out at 4K and 60fps. A mode vivo calls 4K Cinematic Video applies one of three looks, Modern Movie, Vibrant or Pastel, while recording, so clips need no color grading afterward. The selfie camera is also 50MP, with a 92-degree lens meant for group shots.

The camera app adds more than 30 AI styles and a festive-portrait effect called AI Diwali Portrait. vivo also promises six years of security updates, and the fine print limits that to patches. Major and minor Android version upgrades are not part of the pledge, and the six years count from the launch date in the buyer's country.
