Grand Theft Auto VI will carry the broadest radio lineup the series has had, and Rockstar Games has now put names to six of its stations. They stretch from Latin pop to metal, and for the first time the game adds on-demand podcasts alongside the broadcasts.

The full set of stations spans everything from Classic Rock to Talk Radio, and Rockstar calls it the biggest and widest-ranging selection of in-game radio yet. In Grand Theft Auto VI, Jason and Lucia can tune into both radio and podcasts in vehicles or on foot, through newly introduced headphones and earbuds paired with their smartphones. Listening is no longer tied to a car stereo, which makes the audio a feature of the whole game rather than of its vehicles.

The six stations Rockstar described are:

  • The Chamber 106.6, a metal station run by DJ Kerry and DJ Tom.
  • Cocoteo FM, modern Latin music from hosts El Martillo and La Gata, running from bachata and merengue to dembow and reggaeton.
  • Back Country Radio, renegade country from MW and Delta Dawne, with a swamp-meteorologist reporter named Mud Dog Mike checking in from an airboat.
  • AfroBank FM, African music hosted by Burna and Palmsy, from 20th-century classics to amapiano and 3-step.
  • Flash FM, a pop station fronted by Robyn and Alex.
  • Dirty South Classics, regional rap and hip-hop with Trick and Trina.

Each Grand Theft Auto VI station is built around named hosts and a regional identity, so the lineup doubles as a map of Leonida's fictional geography, with Grassrivers and Port Gellhorn name-checked for the country station. Previews of all six are available in the Music section of Rockstar's official site.

Rockstar has more music still to show. The studio says details of the dynamic score and further singles from Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album are on the way. That record has 34 original tracks from a genre-spanning roster of artists, is due November 19, and can be pre-saved or pre-ordered on vinyl and CD at gtavi-thealbum.com.
