ASUS has added the ExpertBook A7 to its professional laptop line, a 14-inch machine built around a 3K OLED panel, a milled aluminum chassis and a choice of two AMD Ryzen AI processors. The Copilot+ PC is about 1 cm thick at its thinnest point and starts at 1.2 kg.
ASUS lists the Ryzen AI 5 330 and Ryzen AI 7 345 as the processor options, alongside Radeon 820M or 840M graphics and an NPU rated at up to 50 TOPS. Memory is 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X and is listed as onboard, so capacity is fixed at purchase. Storage is a single M.2 slot with up to 512GB, a modest ceiling for a laptop aimed at working professionals.
The panel is a 2880 x 1800, 16:10 OLED rated at 600 nits in HDR and 100% DCI-P3, with a 120Hz refresh rate and variable refresh. The detail worth checking is the finish: ASUS lists the anti-glare coating as optional, so some configurations ship with a glossy panel, and the sheet carries both a glare and an anti-glare panel entry. Anyone buying for bright offices should confirm which version a given SKU uses.
Battery claims need the footnotes. The 65Wh pack is credited with up to 21 hours, but ASUS says that figure came from its own lab test on the lower-end processor option with 16GB of RAM, 50% screen brightness and local FHD video playback, and that real-world life is typically lower. No number is given for the faster chip. Fast charging is quoted at 50% in 30 minutes, which ASUS calls a theoretical figure.
Connectivity covers two USB4 Type-C ports with power delivery and DisplayPort, one USB-A port, HDMI, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth. Security is where the business pitch concentrates: fingerprint sign-in with FIDO2, a discrete TPM chip, Windows 11 Secured-core protection and MIL-STD-810H durability testing. The colors are Lunar Silver and Eclipse Black. ASUS gives no price or ship date, and the commitment that will matter most to fleet buyers is its promise of five years of BIOS and driver security updates.
