Squadron 42 can now be wishlisted on Steam, and its store page places the single-player space game in a Q2 2027 release window. That is a quarter, not a date. The listing names no launch day.
According to the Steam page, Cloud Imperium Games Ltd and Cloud Imperium Games Texas LLC developed Squadron 42, and Roberts Space Industries is the publisher. The listing describes a cinematic campaign in which the player enlists as a rookie in the UEE Navy. The story moves through fighter cockpits, capital ships, space stations and frontier outposts, with a crew the page says is played by an all-star cast.
Getting in line is cheap. You can add Squadron 42 to a Steam wishlist today and get a notice when it goes on sale, per the listing. You will also need a Roberts Space Industries account, which Steam shows as a required third-party login that can be linked to a Steam account. Windows is the only platform shown, and no price appears yet.
The feature list covers Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud, HDR and Family Sharing. English is the one language with full audio, and nine more are supported for the interface and subtitles. Steam carries a mature-content note for strong language, intense violence, blood and gore, and the page also hosts a trailer titled The Oath.
The hardware floor is the part worth reading closely. Squadron 42 lists Windows 11, 16 GB of RAM and a graphics card with 8 GB of video memory as its minimum. Storage is the biggest number at 150 GB. The processor bar is low by comparison: any Intel i7 from the Sandy Bridge generation onward or an AMD Bulldozer chip or newer qualifies. Steam's recommended tier names no hardware, so players with older rigs have only the minimum to measure against, and the 8 GB graphics requirement is the figure to check first.
