Marantz introduced the CINEMA Series 2, a four-model overhaul of its home theater receiver line built around a new 32-bit, eight-channel digital-to-analog converter that processes every channel at once for tighter surround imaging.
Marantz split the CINEMA Series 2 lineup into four models: the flagship CINEMA 50 Series 2, the standard CINEMA 60 Series 2, the Europe-only CINEMA 60 DAB Series 2, and the slimline CINEMA 70s Series 2. The lineup also widens access to Dirac Live room correction, adds 1440p video pass-through with AMD FreeSync compatibility for gaming, and rebuilds the companion app as Web Control 2.0. Pricing runs $3,000 for the flagship, $2,000 for the standard model, and $1,500 for the slimline model, with the Europe-only DAB model listing at €1,450. All four reach Marantz.com and authorized retailers starting August 12, 2026, except the slimline model, which follows on September 15, 2026.
Across the CINEMA Series 2 lineup, Dirac Live room correction, previously limited to the flagship model, is now available as a paid upgrade on the standard, DAB, and slimline models, while the flagship alone keeps Dirac's Bass Control and Active Room Treatment tools. Pairing that wider Dirac access with the shared eight-channel DAC, plus a coming firmware update that adds Low-Latency Bluetooth LE Audio, narrows the gap Marantz has long kept between its flagship and the rest of the range.
Custom installers get an HDMI diagnostics tool and real-time channel-level monitoring built into CI Mode, while the flagship alone adds a Dolby Atmos Channel Expander and a dedicated center-channel bi-amp mode. Every CINEMA Series 2 model also moves to redesigned packaging that cuts plastic content, a change Marantz is pairing with unchanged copper-accented styling in black or silver-gold finishes.
