Xiaomi has published full specifications for the Redmi 17, its newest Redmi-branded phone, headlined by a 7,500mAh (typical) battery and 45W wired turbo charging. According to the phone's official global product page, a 35-minute charge delivers what Xiaomi calls "all day power," while a full charge from empty takes about 96 minutes under the company's own internal lab testing. Xiaomi also lists up to 91 hours of music playback, 28 hours of video playback and 46 hours of talk time on a single charge, figures measured internally rather than by an independent lab.
The rest of the spec sheet points to an entry-level, endurance-first design rather than a performance flagship. Redmi 17 runs on MediaTek's octa-core Helio G91-Ultra chipset, paired with 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage; Xiaomi's memory-extension software can borrow storage to simulate up to 12GB of RAM on the 6GB configuration. HyperOS 3 handles the software layer, and Xiaomi claims the phone is tuned to still feel responsive after 36 months of regular use, a durability pitch aimed at buyers who keep phones longer than a typical two-year upgrade cycle.
On the front, the 6.9-inch display supports an adaptive refresh rate up to 120Hz and carries TÜV Rheinland certification for low blue light, flicker-free operation and circadian-friendly output, protected by a layer of Corning's Gorilla Glass 7i. Around back sits a 50MP AI dual-camera system with a portrait mode Xiaomi says uses multi-frame algorithms, plus a dual-video mode that records front and rear footage in one frame. The body is rated IP64 for dust and splash resistance and includes 22.5W reverse wired charging, letting the Redmi 17 top up earbuds, a smartwatch or another phone. Xiaomi is selling the phone in White, Red, Green and Deep Blue, and the back panel carries a dynamic RGB accent light that cycles through eight backlight colors.
None of the internal benchmarks Xiaomi cites, including battery cycles, charging speed and playback hours, come from third-party testing, and the page lists no price or regional availability window for the Redmi 17 beyond the specifications themselves.
