ArgoCon Japan arrives in Yokohama on July 28 as the Argo project's first community conference in Asia, gathering maintainers and enterprise practitioners ahead of Argo CD 3.5, a release organizers describe as the biggest since Argo CD 3.0.

The half-day program runs 1:30 pm to 6:30 pm alongside KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Japan 2026. Per CNCF, Argo CD 3.5 delivers hundreds of improvements, with ApplicationSets gaining first-class citizen status as the release's central architectural shift. More than 70 percent of organizations running Kubernetes have adopted Argo or are actively doing so, per the project's annual survey, making ArgoCon Japan a natural expansion beyond its historic North America and Europe footprint.

Argo CD lead Michael Crenshaw of Intuit will present the release proposal at ArgoCon Japan, joined by maintainers Dan Garfield (Octopus Deploy), Christian Hernandez (Cisco), and Nitish Kumar (Akuty). Enterprise speakers from American Express and Coralogix are also on the roster.

Sessions span AI agent orchestration, GitOps best practices, and scaling Argo Workflows in production. Argo Rollouts has expanded its Gateway API support through community-contributed plugins. Organizers also plan to share results from the 2026 Argo CD end-user survey, recently completed across the project's install base.

Registration for ArgoCon Japan requires a KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Japan ticket; the full schedule is at the ArgoCon Japan event page on the CNCF site.

The event is therefore both a release preview and a practical maintainer forum, tying proposed Argo CD changes to deployment guidance for teams already running GitOps workflows in production.
