Caviar brought 24K gold and hand-engraved ancient Greek motifs to Meta's Ray-Ban Wayfarer II smart glasses with the Odyssey collection. The Dubai-based luxury customization house designs and assembles each piece by hand at its atelier. The base hardware is the standard Ray-Ban Wayfarer II; Caviar's work is the material treatment layered on top of it, leaving Meta's underlying electronics untouched.
The collection ships as two editions. The flagship Odyssey model is plated in 24K gold, with intricate relief engravings and star-shaped black enamel accents along the temples. The Odyssey Silver version uses 22K sterling silver inserts for a monochromatic finish. Both carry motifs drawn from the island of Ithaca, the mythic homeland of Odysseus in Homer's epic poem.
The scarcity is intentional. Each edition is limited to 24 numbered units worldwide, one per Book of the Odyssey. Caviar's artisans individually forge every decorative element, apply the engraving, polish, and complete final assembly by hand. The charging case receives the same attention: genuine crocodile leather wrapping and a signature Caviar clasp emblem, with the original charging and storage functions preserved.
The technology stays intact. The Wayfarer II's built-in camera, open-ear speakers, touch controls, and AI voice assistant all operate exactly as they do on the standard retail version. Wearers can capture photos and video, stream audio, and handle calls hands-free.
Pricing starts at $6,139 per pair, according to Caviar. Each unit ships in the brand's signature luxury gift packaging. What remains unclear is whether the 48 total pieces across both editions will find buyers at that price, or whether the Odyssey will prove more collected than worn.
