GoLand ships integrated performance analysis, code modernization, and GitHub Copilot access in its latest major update, as JetBrains consolidates tooling that previously required multiple external steps or context switches outside the IDE.

GoLand 2026.2's headline addition is the Go Optimization tool window, which brings pprof profiling, escape analysis, and struct optimization into a single IDE surface, according to JetBrains. Profiling previously required a test entry point; the release extends it to standard run/debug configurations, covering CPU, memory, mutex, block, and goroutine profiles without additional setup. GoLand 2026.2 also supports Go 1.27's Goroutine leak profile, which surfaces goroutines permanently blocked on unreachable synchronization primitives, a concurrency failure mode that previously required external tooling to diagnose. Imported production profiles open in a redesigned viewer with flame graphs, call trees, and a new graph visualization; live performance charts update in real time as applications run. Escape analysis is now visualized inline in the editor, showing whether values stay on the stack or escape to the heap.

Code modernization gets a similar consolidation. The release integrates the official go fix tool, surfacing migration suggestions inside the editor as affected code is highlighted. Developers can review and apply updates from any Go release without leaving the IDE; go fix can also run automatically as a pre-commit check to keep codebases aligned with the latest Go recommendations.

On the infrastructure side, Docker Compose files gain inline service actions for viewing logs, checking status, and opening exposed endpoints directly from inside docker-compose.yml. The update also adds Terraform testing framework support, bringing code completion, navigation, and validation to Terraform test files alongside standard application code.

AI tooling expands with an agent skills manager for reusable workflow knowledge, a configurable completion model selector that operates independently from chat providers, and GitHub Copilot models now accessible directly from the JetBrains AI interface. IDE performance improvements include asynchronous file writes to reduce UI freezes in large projects, WSL environments, and Docker containers, plus faster inspection and highlighting across complex codebases.

GoLand now also auto-detects main packages and creates run/debug configurations on project open, removing a manual setup step that slowed onboarding to new or multi-application repositories.
