VAIO introduced two new laptops, the VAIO T and VAIO T work, as the first entries in a lineup the company calls its Next series. Both machines share a proprietary hinge VAIO calls a multi-flip mechanism, letting the 13.3-inch display fold into three working shapes: a notebook mode with a tilted keyboard, a tablet mode usable one-handed without a desk, and a view mode that lays the screen flat for sharing.

The VAIO T targets individual buyers and comes in three finishes: Fine Red, Fine Black, and a limited Kachiiro edition finished in VAIO's dark indigo corporate color, sold only through VAIO's own online store. The business-oriented VAIO T work ships in Fine Black only, through VAIO's separate business storefront. VAIO said pre-orders for both models open September 18 in Japan, with VAIO T units reaching Nojima retail stores on September 22 and shipments from VAIO's own online store as early as September 30.

VAIO said the T and T work grew directly out of its 2025 move to join Nojima Group, the Japanese electronics retailer. A proposal from Nojima's sales staff started the project, and feedback from Nojima's store teams shaped which features VAIO built in. The partnership already produced VAIO Wellness Care, a camera-based health-sensing app VAIO launched in August; the T and T work mark its second product.

Both models run on Intel's Core Ultra Series 3 mobile processors and are certified as Copilot+ PCs, the Microsoft tier that unlocks on-device AI features such as Recall and Cocreator. According to VAIO, consumer VAIO T processor choices run from the entry Core Ultra 5 325 up to the range-topping Core Ultra X7 358H, reserved for the Kachiiro edition, while the T work ships only with the mid-tier Core Ultra 7 356H; VAIO pairs both with up to 64GB of LPDDR5X memory, PCIe 5.0 storage, a neural processing unit VAIO says delivers up to 47 to 50 TOPS, and, on the larger of two available batteries, up to 18 hours of video playback or 29 hours idle under Japan's JEITA 3.0 standard.

VAIO said the new hinge also passed a dedicated flip-durability test on top of the MIL-STD-810H military-grade testing it already runs on its laptops, and both models are built at VAIO's Azumino, Nagano factory under what the company calls its Azumino Finish quality process.

The Wellness Care app, due as a download from September 30, uses the built-in camera to estimate blood-vessel load and heart rate without a wearable; VAIO cautions the readings are statistical estimates, not medically validated measurements. A three-microphone AI noise-canceling system, built on licensed technology from intelliGo, rounds out the line's headline software, with four preset modes tuned for different work settings. VAIO has not disclosed pricing for either model.
