ASUS Googlebook 14 marks the company's entry into Google's new Googlebook laptop category, pairing a 14-inch 3K OLED touchscreen with a magnesium-aluminum chassis that starts at 0.99 kg (about 2.18 pounds). It lands in the same week Acer and HP announced 14-inch Googlebooks of their own, so three PC makers are now building for one platform, and ASUS is competing on portability and screen quality.
ASUS describes the ASUS Googlebook 14 as the first laptop it has designed for Gemini Intelligence. Its CNC-machined alloy body measures as little as 10.9 mm thick and comes in a single shade ASUS calls Dusk Ash, with a Nano Ceramic finish meant to shrug off scratches and stains. ASUS says the design passed MIL-STD 810H testing plus its own durability checks, although its footnotes stress that the military-grade label says nothing about fitness for military use.
Configurations of the ASUS Googlebook 14 top out at an Intel Core Ultra 7 Series 3 processor, 64 GB of LPDDR5X memory, and a 1 TB PCIe 4.0 SSD, which implies cheaper tiers below that ceiling. ASUS rates the 70 Wh battery for up to 18 hours. The 16:10 OLED panel refreshes at 120Hz, reaches up to 1,000 nits of peak HDR brightness, and sits under Corning Gorilla Glass Victus with a matte anti-glare layer. Six speakers, including two force-canceling woofers and two tweeters, handle audio, while a haptic touchpad with six-point force sensing and a backlit keyboard with 1.5 mm of travel round out the inputs.
On the software side, the pitch centers on Magic Pointer: wiggle the cursor and Gemini wakes up, letting users select onscreen objects to ask about, compare, or remix, such as turning two images into a poster. Proactive suggestions go further, offering actions based on whatever is on screen without a prompt. Much of this comes with conditions: availability varies by country and language, the AI features are limited to users 18 and older, and heavier use may need a subscription. Handoff with a phone requires Android 17 or later, after which a task begun on the handset can finish on the laptop and phone apps can be cast to the bigger display.
Port selection is generous for a machine this thin, per ASUS: two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports with Power Delivery and DisplayPort 1.4, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, HDMI 2.1b, and a 3.5 mm audio jack, alongside Wi-Fi 7. Buyers also get 12 months of Google AI Pro, which ASUS values at $239.88 and which includes 5 TB of cloud storage, but only for eligible Googlebooks bought and activated on or after October 1, 2026, in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, New Zealand, the UK, and the US. ASUS has not yet listed a price or a shipping date for the ASUS Googlebook 14 itself.
