NZXT revived its S series case line with two new steel ATX mid-towers, the S5 RGB and S5 RGB Deluxe, both built on a shared chassis with RGB cooling pre-installed out of the box.
Both cases share the same chassis, materials and clearances, with the Deluxe distinguished mainly by two additional RGB fan units at the bottom and rear. NZXT positions the S5 RGB as the return of the S series, the entry tier of its case lineup, built for people who want a case that feels genuinely well made without stepping up to a flagship enclosure.
NZXT CEO Johnny Hou described the goal as "solid steel and tempered glass, nothing hollow about it," saying the case should look at home on a desk whether the parts inside are entry-level or flagship-grade.
The S5 RGB packs a single-frame 360 mm RGB reverse fan pre-installed on the right-side intake, tempered glass across the front and left side, and a steel mesh side panel with removable PVC filters top and bottom. Build in a full ATX board or keep it Mini-ITX small, and you still get 415 mm of graphics-card clearance, a 162 mm cooler-height limit, and ten total fan mounts to grow into later. Both cases come in all-white and all-black, weigh a touch over 6 kg, and carry a two-year warranty.
The S5 RGB Deluxe is the same case with cooling already sorted: it ships with three RGB fan units instead of one, the same 360 mm reverse fan on the intake plus a 120 mm reverse fan in the angled bottom mount and a 120 mm fan at the rear, for five fans in total. Reverse blades face the glass on the side and bottom units; the rear fan uses a standard forward-blade design. The extra hardware makes the Deluxe roughly 300 grams heavier, at 6.44 kg versus 6.14 kg for the base model.
NZXT prices the S5 RGB at $49.99 in the Americas and Asia-Pacific and €59.90 in Europe (about $69), while the S5 RGB Deluxe runs $59.99 in the Americas and Asia-Pacific and €69.90 in Europe (about $80). Both ship under model numbers CC-S51FW-01 and CC-S51FB-01 for the S5 RGB, and CC-S51FW-D1 and CC-S51FB-D1 for the Deluxe, reaching authorized retailers worldwide within one to two weeks.
