Samsung began a global rollout of five new Galaxy devices, with the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Fold8, Flip8, Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9 reaching stores in 106 markets starting Aug. 7.

Carriers, retailers, Samsung.com and Samsung Experience Stores are carrying the full lineup as it expands from an initial group of countries to the rest of the world. According to Samsung, pre-order interest for the new generation climbed more than 30 percent compared with last year's foldable series, with Graphite the most popular color for both Fold8 Ultra and Fold8 while Pink led early Flip8 orders.

The three foldables are built for different buyers. Fold8 leans into media consumption, with a wider cover screen, a 4:3 main display and a 201-gram body that Samsung calls its lightest Fold yet. Fold8 Ultra moves upmarket for creative and business users, pairing an 8-inch main display with a 200-megapixel main camera, a new 50-megapixel ultra-wide sensor and a chassis just 4.1 millimeters thick when unfolded. Flip8 keeps the compact clamshell format but adds a reimagined FlexWindow cover screen with contextual suggestions, a 50-megapixel main camera and voice access to Google's Gemini assistant without opening the phone.

Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9 round out the launch, both built on Qualcomm's Snapdragon Wear Elite platform. Watch Ultra2 targets endurance athletes with a 47-millimeter titanium case, up to 5,000 nits of peak brightness and a dedicated trail-running mode, while Watch9 is the everyday option in two smaller sizes with continuous heart and sleep tracking. Samsung is also using the launch to pull in iPhone owners: new Galaxy buyers get a six-month trial of Google's AI Pro subscription, and an upgraded Smart Switch tool now lets iOS users move passwords, passkeys and call history to a new phone by scanning a QR code instead of installing a separate app.

The color lineup hints at who Samsung wants most. Alongside standard Graphite and Violet Shadow options, the company added Green Shadow, Pistachio and Mint exclusives for Samsung.com buyers, shades that outsold every other color among pre-order customers between 15 and 34 years old.
