The Moto Watch Ultra marks Motorola's return to Wear OS by Google after several years of proprietary software on its watch line, pairing the Android wearable platform with Polar's science-backed training analytics and standalone LTE in a 46mm stainless steel package priced from €429 (about $500) in Europe.

Motorola lists an array of Polar algorithms on the device, including Nightly Recharge, which measures autonomic nervous system recovery alongside sleep quality, and Running Coach, which delivers guided running and walking workouts with pacing feedback directly from the wrist. Energy Sources breaks down how the body uses fat, carbohydrates, and protein during exercise, while Active Intensity Zones classify movement by heart rate into light, moderate, and vigorous bands. Polar, a Finnish sports technology company whose measurement methodology traces to professional chest-strap monitoring, brings a more granular training-science toolkit than the basic step-and-heart-rate features typical of mid-range wearables. Per Motorola, the Watch Ultra continues a prior collaboration between the two companies.

The Watch Ultra is the first moto watch to include LTE, which allows calls, messages, and notifications without a paired phone. Google Pay and dual-band GPS extend standalone use. Motorola Qira, the company's AI assistant, debuts on a moto watch here: a wrist raise or a "Hey Qira" voice command pulls information stored across compatible Motorola and Lenovo devices, according to Motorola.

Motorola equips the watch with a 1.5-inch OLED display rated up to 2,700 nits of brightness with an always-on mode, a Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 processor, and IP68 plus 5ATM water resistance. Motorola rates battery life at two days with the always-on display off and says a 15-minute charge delivers up to 24 hours of runtime. The 46mm case uses stainless steel with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on the display; standard 22mm band compatibility means third-party straps work without adapters.

The Moto Watch Ultra will reach Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, North America, and Asia-Pacific in the coming weeks, per Motorola. Motorola's press materials list €429 as the European starting price; regional pricing in other markets will be confirmed through local teams. The IFA lineup also includes the motorola edge 70 Plus, a 200MP camera phone with a quad-curved 6.78-inch AMOLED display and a 6,500mAh battery, and the Moto Snap wireless charger, rated for up to 25W on Qi2.2-compatible devices and priced from €39 (about $45) in Europe.
