Samsung introduced three new foldable phones at Galaxy Unpacked, its event in London on July 22, headlined by the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, the first Ultra-branded model in the company's foldable lineup. The event also brought a redesigned Galaxy Z Fold8 and an upgraded Galaxy Z Flip8, giving the eighth-generation Z series three distinct takes on the book-style and clamshell form factors Samsung has been refining for years.

Per Samsung, Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra measures 4.1 millimeters thick when unfolded and weighs 215 grams, the thinnest Fold model the company has shipped, and pairs an 8-inch main display with Samsung's Flex Titanium hinge technology, which it says reduces the visible display crease. The phone runs on Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon chip for Galaxy and a 5,000mAh battery, and Samsung is pitching the extra screen real estate for AI-assisted multitasking: a Now Nudge feature opens Multi Window automatically, and a new Gemini Notebook tool turns uploaded meeting notes or recordings into summaries, slides or short videos. Galaxy Z Fold8 drops the Ultra branding for a reworked 5.5-inch cover screen and 7.6-inch main display, weighs 201 grams, the lightest Fold Samsung has built, and carries a 4,800mAh battery rated for more than 26 hours of video playback.

Galaxy Z Flip8 keeps the clamshell shape but expands what the external FlexWindow can do without opening the phone, adding a Now Brief widget for weather, schedule and notification summaries plus a Camcorder Grip mode built for one-handed video capture and a Dual Recording mode that shows both the creator's and the subject's view at once. Samsung says all three phones share the same Galaxy AI stack introduced across the Fold8 lineup, just tuned differently for a larger canvas on the Fold models and a smaller external screen on Flip8.

Samsung did not publish local pricing or an on-sale date, leaving those details, along with region-by-region availability, for the follow-up Unpacked coverage the company typically posts in the days after a launch event.
